Once you've got your beard oil, you want to make sure you're using it right. When it comes to oiling your beard, we have you covered. Check out our tips below.
Oil your beard daily. Up to twice per day if you live in a dry environment. Beard hair is prone to drying out so it is crucial to keep it hydrated. When your facial hair gets dry, it gets itchy. And flaky. And you don’t want flakes in your beard. We recommend applying beard oil after a shower, or at least after washing your face with some warm water. The hot water opens up your pores, which makes your skin more receptive to the oil. Depending on your environment and the length of your beard, you could also get away with oiling every second day. Generally, dryer climates and longer beards require more frequent oiling.
Most people will have to use about 5-6 drops of beard oil. A good rule of thumb is to use a drop or two per month of growth. Our beard oils have a dropper which you can use to get the right amount of oil every time, with no waste. The bigger your beard, the more oil you’ll need to use. Once you’ve grown your beard out for a year (also known as a “yeard”) you’re going to be using around a dozen drops to get your beard fully oiled.
Rub the oil into your hands then thoroughly massage it into your face. Don’t neglect any part of your face and really focus on getting the beard oil all over your cheeks, jaw, chin and everywhere else on your face. After you’ve massaged the roots, you should massage any facial hair you missed. If you have a longer beard then you can use a pinching motion to get every last hair the moisturizing beard oil it needs. Your hair follicles and skin will soak up most of the oil, but if there’s any left just wash your hands with soap and water. All of the oils used in our formulation are natural and great for your skin, so you can also rub it on your arms, legs, etc. to get the most out of it.
